About Us
In 2006 we moved from our native Scotland to Colombia with the aim to embark on an ambitious tourism project which pulled together the most prestigious tourism operators in Latin America in one easy to use online platform called HostelTrail.com. Several years later, we called upon that same knowledge to begin more localised projects in the town we decided to call our home.

We created the first backpacker hostel in Popayan - Hostel Trail followed by the second, El Caracol and it's from here we now run our tour company Popayan Tours.

We understand that travel experiences create memories that last a lifetime and we want to make sure that your trip to this area is enriching and unforgettable.
Our aim is to facilitate your exploration of the region, putting together the nuts and bolts of the trip so that you are free to focus on the details that are most important to you. We design our excursions for the independent traveller, our trips are not package tours and we believe in working together with the local communities to offer unique experiences while supporting the extraordinary people and places that make up this exceptional region.
Whether you’d like to hike an active volcano, bike the Andean passes, explore indigenous villages or ancient burial sites, or just soak your travel weary body in a volcanic thermal pool; we have a wide variety of options available and pride ourselves on finding a good fit for your individual needs.
